The finest mangos
10 months of the year

Mangos are not a new export product...
They have been in Haiti for over 200 years!
Since the 1700s!

At JMB S.A., we collect the mangos from small orchards and backyard trees owned by small farmers throughout the island. In Haiti, mangos are grown naturally, without any chemicals, pesticides or genetic manipulation.

Mangos are one of Haiti's most important agricultural export products. With a well-organized network, we collect and export an average of 450,000 (10 lbs) boxes of mangos to the US market every year. The mango season in Haiti is the longest in the region: so JMB S.A. exports mangos from early November till late August.

USDA certified organic mangos are available from JMB S.A.

Since 2005, three small farmer associations and JMB S.A have been certified by internationally recognized organic certification agencies as producers of wild harvest organic mangos. USDA and BCS Oko-Garantie have provided organic certification.

We are working closely with the small farmer cooperatives in the certified growing regions: Gros Morne, Ennery, and Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite, to provide the finest quality organic mangos. more...

supported by JMB S.A.

We support numerous social investment programs to help ensure the long-term prosperity of the farming communities

For decades JMB has been working, along with non-profit organization like ORE, on improving the best crop varieties and expansing their production. We have imported and tested numerous new mango varieties, commercial hot peppers, papayas and other crops. We have promoted the use of drip irrigation, improved planting and harvesting techniques which vastly improve the revenue of the farmers, by reducing losses in the field and after harvest.

The need to actively participate in the education and social development of the families in the farming communities has led to our support for various projects. We supported the building and operation of two rural schools in major production areas - provided them with computers and internet access and subsidizing the school fees for needy students.

Frozen mango cubes

Our latest venture is the construction of an IQF plant
to produce quality quick-frozen products

We are currently building an IQF (individually quick frozen) facility, which will be in operation in spring 2007. This will be the first IQF plant in Haiti!

We will be processing IQF mango chunks, dice and half's, papaya cubes, as well as honeydew and cantaloupe balls. We will also be packing breadfruit, calabaza and various root crops for export.

JMB S.A. is a major exporter of quality tropical fruits and vegetables from Haiti

JMB S.A. is a Haitian firm established in 1983, specializing in exporting agricultural products from Haiti: primarily mangos, and other fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables. Today, JMB S.A. has become one of the largest Haitian exporters of fresh produce to North America. Twenty years of operational experience assures our customers of receiving only the best quality products. JMB S.A. exports only the highest quality fresh and frozen mangos, fruits and vegetables, using the highest standards of quality control, and the latest IQF technology.

Mango mania: JMB S.A. is one of the largest exporters of the Madame Francis mango,
Haiti's major export crop.

Mangos are produced in different regions of the island, thanks to its diversity of microclimates. Haiti is able to produce mangos almost all year round. JMB S.A. has a strict quality control program, operating from the field to the final check before export. Mme Francis mangos are shipped daily: by air freight at the beginning of the season, and by ocean containers during the peak season. The Madame Francis mango is unique to Haiti. Over 140 varieties of mangos have been identified, but the Madame Francis is the only mango currently being exported fresh. It is one of Haiti's most lucrative crops. USAID reported in 2001 that 'the mango industry is estimated to employ thousands of small growers and Haiti is today the second largest exporter of mangos to the US market.' JMB S.A.'s strict quality control program at the packing plant ensures that our export products from Haiti meet the highest international standards.
