Quick Frozen (IQF) Products

Quick frozen tropical mango cubes from Haiti

JMB S.A. is developing a new line of Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) tropical fruit and vegetable products.

JMB S.A. is currently building an Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) processing plant, which will be in operation in spring 2007. JMB's 16,000 sq. ft. facility will be the first IQF plant in Haiti.

The new line of IQF products from JMB S.A. will include frozen tropical fruits: mango chunks, dice and half's, papaya cubes, as well as honeydew and cantaloupe balls. JMB will also be processing bread fruit, calabaza, pigeon peas, and various tropical root crops.

The IQF process ensures the 'fresh-picked' quality, taste and appearance of tropical fruits such as mango, papaya and melon. JMB S.A. is promoting these products in response to the rising year-round demand for quality tropical fruits and vegetables.

JMB's New Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) Facitity

JMB SA, an export-oriented enterprise, is currently constructing the first Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) processing plant in Haiti. Our 16,000 sq ft plant is being equipped with state-of-the-art IQF equipment capable of producing quick-frozen tropical fruits and vegetables of the highest quality.

Situated in the middle of the rich fruit and vegetable growing areas of Haiti, JMB S.A. is well supplied with the freshest and healthiest raw materials. Selected fruits and vegetables are processed using the IQF technique to give you a product with fresh-picked flavor, naturally bright colors, and superior fruit and vegetable identity. JMB S.A.'s first IQF products will be quick frozen tropical mango chunks, dice and half's, papaya cubes, as well as honeydew and cantaloupe balls and assorted quick frozen tropical foods such as breadfruit, calabaza and root crops.

Quality and Taste of Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) Products

The appeal of IQF fruits and vegetables is that they closely resemble the much-sought-after appearance, flavor and nutrition of the fresh versions, which have the downside of often being more time-consuming and costly to incorporate in home-prepared meals. Individually quick frozen products lock in the essential nutrients and flavor, with optimum color, taste and texture. JMB S.A. is aware that this is particularly true of tropical fruits such as mango processed using IQF technology.

Convenience of Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) Products

The IQF process makes it possible to offer 'fresh picked' flavors all year round, in packaging convenient for today's busy consumer. There's a growing consumer demand for meals they can heat up and serve quickly. Particularly for frozen tropical fruits such as mango.

More people are opting to buy a bagged meal rather than buying all the individual components. Handy bags and cartons of instant quick frozen products are easy to open, to store and to dispose of. The convenience and time-saving aspects of IQF products are making them increasingly popular according to market observers.

Nutritional Value of Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) Products

In addition to being easier to prepare for the consumer, IQF fruit and vegetables can deliver improved nutritional content. Freshly picked vegetable raw materials do not lose their nutritional value, physical aspects and taste when processed using the IQF Individually Quick Frozen technique. This is particularly true of frozen tropical fruits and vegetables.

Researchers are discovering more about the health benefits of vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and phytochemicals that occur naturally in fruits and vegetables. Health agencies recommend eating five servings of fruit and vegetables each day. The nutritional quality of IQF can actually be better than fresh because as fresh ages it loses its nutrients. tropical fruits and vegetables processed this way can be even healthier than the fresh ones and stored longer and more conveniently.

In 2007 JMB S.A. will be promoting high quality IQF products: exporting individually frozen segments of tropical fruits and vegetables. JMB is committed to quality.

JMB S.A. is working with local fruit and vegetable producers in Haiti to ensure the production of selected crops for IQF production. JMB aims to produce high quality export products, eliminating the problems of limited seasonal availability of tropical fruits and vegetables. For many consumers, the end of summer signals the end of the mango season, but JMB's new frozen mango halves and cubes, will provide mango all year round.
